Wall 563
Wall 563 was changed from a soldier pile wall with tiebacks to a PCRS wall. The wall was constructed in the Rose Creek drainage channel with potentially high flood levels and scour, and very limited access between the environmental area and the active railroad. The wall also had to support large freight train surcharge loading (4 Cooper E80 loaded train tracks).
The PCRS wall consisted of a 2-piece horizontal and vertical counterfort system with up to 3 tiers. Wall 563 was approximately 2,300 feet long for a total 31,000 square feet of retaining wall.
